Snow was the other excitement. We had blizzard conditions the day after Christmas. Jeff went into the office Christmas day to get some things to work on at home during the storm.
We ended up with 7.5 inches. Poor Jeff was the only one not sick, so he had two drives to shovel. The kids were hired to keep a neighbor's drive clear while they are in FL until April. It took him more than four hours, the snow being so wet and heavy. I felt so bad when he had to shovel again on Saturday after we got a few more inches. But, this time, he did three driveways! The widow who lives next door to the other neighbor saw him out shoveling and asked if he'd do hers! She let him use her snow blower and set up a deal to use it this winter if he will do her drive, too!
Anyway, that has been our excitement around here. I was in bed all weekend feeling the affects of this virus. Today I will direct home life from the couch. I am thankful that Ryan and Grace are well except for lingering bad coughs. Ryan is going to a new car show with his granddad. We'll have a quiet new year's eve, as we cannot join our friends with our germs still hanging on. I am quite disappointed. But, thankful for my life, my family and friends.
May you have a happy new year!
Jenn

The snow is so pretty and wow 7.5 inches, that's a lot of snow. I think we go about half that in southern OH. We are supposed to get some overnight tonight. Sorry to hear you have all been sick. My husband has the same virus right now and so far, dear son and I haven't caught it. Quiet New Years Eve planned here as well. Blessings to you and your family for a happy healthy new year. Heather
ReplyDeleteThank you, Heather. It makes me all the more thankful for our usual good health. I pray you and your son continue to avoid it.
DeleteWow, I love your snow pics. So sorry for virus in your home! Hope ist over soon.
ReplyDeleteBlessing for 2013. Big hug from your Dutch blogfriend.
Thank you, Jedidja! Happy New Year to you, too!
DeleteAnd I love the pic from you and the cat!
ReplyDeleteMay you all fell better quickly. Just seems to be a tough winter for sicknesses.
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks lovely.
Happy New Year!
Thank you, Melissa. You may, unfortunately, be right about this winter!
DeleteWow, I think it's going to be a quiet/sickness-bound New Year for a lot of people. Sorry that you are still down (but not out, thankfully). Your poor husband. If it were my husband, he'd say I owe him lots of backrubs, haha. Glad he can borrow a snow blower now. I just got my weekly post up too. Have a restful day!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lot of shoveling. Glad you now have a snow blower to use. As you know we are in the same boat regarding illnesses and such. Hope you all have a blessed New years eve.
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn. I'm sorry you are all feeling so sick. I pray for a quick recover all around. I'm glad to hear that Jeff got the blessing of using a snow blower in the end. That could be a big blessing throughout the rest of this winter.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better soon!
Beautiful snow! We had it too, and the kids were sick so hubby shoveled it all. Because there was so much and because it was hard on top and very heavy underneath, it took him most of the day.
ReplyDeleteThis is a bad year for colds, I think. I'm feeling a bit better.
The kids made french fries and chocolate cake for lunch and after that I felt better than I had in days. Enough of this healthy living; let's go for the good stuff! LOL
Have a blessed new year!
Happy New Year! I hope the rest of the year goes much better than the last couple weeks! Poor Jeff! Glad you all are starting to mend.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you all were sick over the holidays--what a bummer! Hope you're all on the mend now. Wow, can't believe the driveway story. But God had a happy ending for him in that! Hope your new semester gets off to a great start, and that you'll feel up to the challenge. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, my friend!
